Despite the grey clouds overhead and patches of light drizzle, 105 athletes descended on the Mangarara Farm to make another hugely successful Horseshoe Lake Triathlon on Saturday 30th October. Races were spread across 11 separate categories with individual, team and mixed teams competing either in the Junior (8-10 years old), Senior (11-13 years old) or Adult (13+ years old) divisions. The standard of competition was high across all events, with some stand out performances in the individual categories.

The day was brought to a close with the prize giving ceremony, and a spot-prize draw for all who had competed. One lucky girl, Olivia Ward, won a brand new bike donated by Bike 'n' Mow. John Kilmister was the recipient of a special prize, a cabbage tree, for being the only athlete to fall off his kayak all day!

As ever, we are grateful to all our sponsors for their generous support; without them, this great community event would not possible. We hope to welcome them all back for the 2011 event.  

Finally, a big congratulations to all those who competed on the day and thank you to your parents for bringing you to our triathlon. We hope to see you all back next year!
